1. New Mexico State Police Officer Killed
Tucumcari, NM
On March 15, 2024 at approximately 0540 hrs a New Mexico State Police Officer (NMSP) named Justin Hare was murdered in the line of duty. As many of you know - New Mexico is my home state and I recently retired from the Albuquerque Department. This tragedy occurred approximately three hours east of Albuquerque on Interstate I-40.
The little information that we have is that this was likely a traffic stop or the officer stopped to check on a vehicle that was parked on the highway.
There was some altercation and the officer was murdered.
The offender then fled the scene in the police car, crashed, and ran on foot.
The offender is still at large.
NMSP initially released a still frame of the offender - likely from the police cars’ dash cam.
Since then NMSP has released the name and former mugshot of this animal.
There is a massive manhunt for this monster that will involve hundreds of cops.
A message to to those brave officers:
This guy has nothing to lose.
Kill him - before he kills you.
It hits different when it’s someone who is out there protecting us.
The good guys are not supposed to die.
2. Ryan Gainer
San Bernardino County, CA
On March 9, 2024 deputies were called to a disturbance where Ryan Gainer (15) was reportedly attacking family members and damaging property inside the home.
Deputies arrived on scene and observed that the front door to the house was open and a commotion could be heard inside.
A deputy approached the front door and Ryan suddenly appeared - holding a five foot “hula hoe” (think of a shovel with a blade on the end).
Ryan immediately started to quickly advance towards the deputy who retreated. As Ryan ran at the deputy - the deputy unholstered his handgun and warned Ryan that he would be “shot” if he did not stop his actions.
Another deputy on scene recognized the deadly threat and utilized deadly force.
This an objectively reasonable and legal police shooting. There is zero doubt.
The body cam footage was released by the Sheriff’s Office within a couple of days - usually an indicator that the shooting was legal. The Sheriff’s department also stated that the deputy followed protocol in the use of deadly force.
What’s the problem?
Ryan is being described as an autistic kid who was “holding” a “gardening tool”. And not as someone who was chasing after a deputy, for no reason, with a deadly weapon.
Democracy Now has nearly two million social media followers (X and IG) and described the incident in the following way:
There are millions of people who will read this description and never watch the video or follow the case to its conclusion - where the deputy will be cleared both legally and administratively.
Taser - too far. 40% fail. Not enough time to transition to lethal.
Autism - not a license to kill.
Final Thoughts
The deputy being chased by Ryan Gainer - did not shoot. Another deputy saw the deadly threat, acted, and likely saved his life.
One whack from that weapon could easily kill a human.
If anything - the deputy being chased should have stood his ground and fired.
The fact that he didn’t and instead ran away to create distance - only shows how much that the deputies did not want to harm Ryan.
There is no time for CIT or de-escalation when a violent maniac is trying to kill you.
For anyone who thinks that it is “easy” to disarm or overpower a large, violent teenager that is swinging a deadly weapon at you - I say, try it sometime. Let me know how it goes.
3. Old woman pushed
New Bern, NC
Police were arresting Christopher Hunnings for several outstanding felony warrants - including one for possession of fentanyl.
Cops were actively struggling with Christopher on the ground, in a parking lot as he resisted arrest, kicked at cops, and threaten to kill the officers.
It was at that point that his is elderly mother(Othalia) approached and interfered with the arrest.
During the struggle Othalia hovered over the officers and touched them as Christopher reached for a knife.
Officers gave her commands to back away and she refused. Eventually an officer gave her a light push. Othalia fell over and flopped over like Lebron in overtime.
The cop was 100% justified.
The officers were not physically afraid of the old woman but, if they are concentrating on her - they cannot get Christopher into custody.
She was in more danger being close to the fight - than being lightly pushed.
I am 100% good with this.
Grandma thought that the law, basic decency, and common sense don’t apply to her. I guess you are never too old to learn something.
Rest in Peace Officer Hare - Your assessment of Democracy Now is correct. They should call themselves Marxism Now. MSM outlets frequently restate these scenarios to paint the officer as the offender.
