We discussed not only the Public Health Emergency order issued by the New Mexico Governor (Michelle Lujan-Grisham) but the response from police officers.
There is this myth that police officers will blindly follow orders - even ones that are blatantly unconstitutional. I have argued against this narrative for years. My prior thoughts on this issue were hypothetical.
This assault on the 2A provided an opportunity for us to see in real time exactly how public officials, police leaders, and police officers will respond to such an arrogant constitutional violation.
It is an interesting sociological experiment playing out in real life. A movie where the cops on the ground are faced with unlawful orders from a tyrant.
